AAS CONDUCTS A MEDICAL STATISTICS WORKSHOP TAILORED FOR SURGEONS

The Annals of African Surgery held a parallel session during the 19th Annual Scientific Conference held on 11th April 2019 at Travellers beach hotel, Mombasa, Kenya. The editorial team organized a special workshop focusing on “Statistics for the Surgeon”.

The overview of study designs was covered as well as an in-depth lecture on Statistics and Data analysis delivered by Dr Linda Chaba, a sought after bio-statistician from Strathmore University. The workshop attracted over 30 participants, both surgeons and residents.

We believe the participants learned enough to improve their data collection and analysis for their subsequent manuscripts.
We look forward to engaging Dr Chaba more and more in future and are willing to conduct similar sessions in future.
