The Annals of African Surgery has recently adapted an online manuscript submission system(ScholarOne). The aim is to make the submission of manuscripts by authors efficient; expediting manuscript processing while maintaining high levels of quality in our publications.

Three months down the line we have seen a greater number of manuscripts submitted per week with a more fulfilling author-editorial team interaction. However, we have received feedback concerning the complexity of the manuscript submission. It is in this regard that the editorial team moved to have a live demonstration session during the 17th Annual scientific conference and Annual general Meeting at the Acacia Premier hotel, Kisumu

The session covers: an outline of manuscript processing (admin checklist, reviewer allocation, editorial team decision and batch allocation) and a practical demonstration of manuscript submission (creation of author account, submission, common challenges)
