The Annals of African Surgery Recognised Internationally

The Annals of African Surgery (AAS) the premier surgical read in the continent has been accepted into the Directorate of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). The DOAJ is one of the largest collection of open access journals in the world with about 12,000 journals and over 3 million articles.

Acceptance of the AAS into this prestigious collection is a reflection of the quality of the journal and its commitment to being open access ensuring that scientific research is available to the scientific community for free. It also means that the authors of scientific research in the AAS will now have international exposure and their papers will be read worldwide.

The Annals of African Surgery is the first medical journal in the country to be included in the DOAJ, making this inclusion truly remarkable. It is also the only surgical journal in Sub Saharan Africa in the DOAJ cementing its position as the home of African surgical research.
