Welcome to the AAS CME Challenge

The AAS CME Challenge is an educational initiative of the Annals of African Surgery designed to promote critical appraisal of surgical research and lifelong learning.

For every new journal issue, each published article will be accompanied by five multiple-choice questions based on key aspects of the study, from the study gap and question, the methodology used, study findings, to limitations and applicability of the study findings.

Participants who successfully complete the questions with a passing grade of 80% and above will be eligible for Continuing Professional Development (CPD) recognition.  The CPD Award will be as follows:

  • Each article completed successfully earns 3 CPD points.

  • Certificates are generated and emailed every Saturday.

  • Participants completing activities between Sunday and Saturday will receive their certificates during the same week's certification cycle.

  • International participants will receive certificates indicating the equivalent Kenyan CPD credit value.
