he editorial team lead by the EIC, Dr. James Kigera, organized a half day workshop ahead of the 18th Annual Scientific Conference of the Surgical Society of Kenya at Pride Inn paradise, Mombasa Kenya.
The theme of the workshop was ‘Translating your Thesis and Clinical Data into a Publication’. A total of 19 participants including residents, medical officers, Medical officer interns and consultants from across Kenya attended the workshop which also attracted CPD points. The EIC, editors (Michael Mwachiro and Stanley Aruyaru) and intern (Ms Liza Kariuki) formed the faculty that delivered a series of ten lectures on various topics.

A practical session was carried out on how to log into the Annals of African Surgery Website, register as an author and navigate the ScholarOneTM manuscript upload system.
After the session, there was half an hour session where members of the editorial team guided the audience on editing their raw work (Case series, cross sectional studies and a thesis proposals). There was immense enthusiasm among the attendants and many have requested to be invited for future authorship workshops.
